'Trance' is taking a potshot at fake religious preachers, besides showcasing a highly energy-packed performance by Fahadh Faasil. Director Anwar Rasheed's brave attempt with a different plot milieu scores well at half-way mark before it hobbling towards the culmination.

Trance is anchored by a powerful Fahadh Faasil performance. Also in the technical department, the film is exceptionally well made. Amal Neerad's career-best work as a cinematographer, Resul Pookutty's sound design, background score by Jackson Vijayan and Sushin Shyam, and most notably, Ajayan Challisery's art direction. Together with Fahadh Faasil, the technical members put in their A-game to make Trance quite a transcendent watching experience.

Trance as the name suggest, A brilliant attempt by Anwar Rashid to show how mind works and how it can be transformed to make the impossible possible. The protagonist Viju starts his career as a motivational speaker who then ultimately ended up as a spiritual leader by his perseverance. The movie is an eye opening piece of information about the dark sides of religious cults making huge profits from the naive people by the name of god. Even though it is a depiction of the bad sides of religion; The director's real aim is to explain how human mind can be programmed to do miraculous things that is way above an average minds to grasp.

Overall, Trance is a great watch. I think you will enjoy it more if you pay attention to the technical details while watching. The cinematography, background score, production design and the performances from all the actors are outstanding. You might get disappointed if you are one of those who cares only about the story.
