Daddy’s Home has the crackling premise for the perfect goofball comedy. You know its routine — a string of gags with good comedy actors at the helm. Original it ain’t, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that some of the dumber gags raised a few unexpected chortles.The result, although wildly uneven, was funnier than expected, a weird slapstick car crash of a movie that somehow made the most of its mismatched central comic pairing.
