Arjun Telugu Movie
The hotshot duo of actor Mahesh Babu and director Gunasekar are out to recreate the magic of "Okkadu" in "Arjun", but have ended up producing a film memorable mainly for its action sequences.
This big-budget extravaganza revolves around a hackneyed plot of ruthless in-laws. If Mahesh fought dreaded goons in "Okkadu" to win his love, here he takes on the unscrupulous in-laws of his twin sister (Keerti Reddy).
Director Gunasekar exploits the sets of the expensively recreated Madurai Meenakshi temple to the hilt by canning most of the events in these premises. Besides elegantly capturing a great piece of art director Thota Tharani's work, he also displays his technical finesse by dishing out one of the best action films in the annals of Telugu cinema.
The director should also be lauded for avoiding a clichéd comedy track and extracting melodies from Mani Sharma instead of the usual, fast-paced numbers. Producer Ramesh has pulled out all stops in the film.
Mahesh is brilliant while Shreya just provides the oomph. Prakash Raj and Sarita look menacing enough for their roles.
