"4 Students" is the dubbed version of Jayaraj's Malayalam superhit "4 The People". It is aimed at the youth with all new star cast and a new music director Jassie Gift. Though the storyline is wafer-thin, the narration is fast paced and the film is technically brilliant.

“4 Students” tells the story of four friends, who stand against the corruption and injustice in the society.

Arun, Bharat, Arjun and Padma Kumar who turn vigilante in their fight against corruption. They open a website and ask the public to mail them about their grievances and problems. They shortlist the person with maximum complaints and track him down and punish him by chopping their hands or fingers. Their target includes a corrupt doctor, a government sales tax officer and a local goonda.

The plus points of the film are R D Rajashekhar's excellent camera work, Antony's editing and of course Jassie Gift's music. Music of the Malayalam version have created a sensation in Kerala, but failed to make that kind of a mark in Tamil. Jassie Gift effortlessly combines reggae, rap to create foottapping songs. All the actors have played their part well including the supporting cast who are all excellent. Jayaraj takes the conventionally engrossing formula vigilante concept and imbibes it with a sense of unpredictability and vitality.

Even though the original was a huge success, one has to wait and see how the tamil audience will receive "4 Students".
