Current Teega is one more that kind of Telugu film which has no value for story or novelty but tries to sail by some comedy here and there. PRETTY AVERAGE STUFF!!!

Current Teega is the official remake of Tamil film, "Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam". Here it runs in a village whose headman is Siva Rama Raju (Jagapathi Babu). Due to certain bad experiences in the past, Siva Rama Raju vows to marry her daughters only with 'arranged' alliances. But Raju (Manchu Manoj), a funny loving lad in the village tries to woo Siva Rama Raju's daughter, Kavitha (Rakul Preet Singh) while her father tries to distance them. Rest is all about how Raju wins Kavitha.

Manchu Manoj's role looked like a continuation from his earlier film, Potugadu. Some times the energy in him dominates the enthusiasm and he goes overboard. Jagapathi Babu does a similar role as in his second innings and is okay. Rakul Preet Singh is stunning as a village belle and has lived up to the expectations in terms of glamour. Sunny Leone is used best at what she is best at. Sampoornesh Babu appears in a little cameo while Shilpi Sharma sizzled in a special song. Vennela Kishore was not used well while Tagubothu Ramesh is an asset.

Coming to the film's analysis part, we do not know how much the makers paid for the remake rights but it is totally wasted. The script has nothing new. It is a stone aged concept in Telugu film industry where a poor guy loves a rich girl and her father objects to it. Director Nageswar Reddy in the name of adapting the film to Telugu nativity totally killed the uniqueness of the Tamil film. Except for some comedy here and there, the film is a totally routine fare. The comedy track between Manoj and Thagubothu Ramesh where both of them try to steal Jagapathi Babu's gun deserves a special mention.

Music director Achu's tunes are average but the director has got the placement very wrong. Back ground score is decent. Fights in the film by Ram Sunkara and thrills by Manchu Manoj looked overboard. Camera work by Sathish Mutyala is neat. Editing should have trimmed a good 20 minutes or so from the film to make it better. Production values of 24 Frames Factory are grand.

Finally, Current Teega is one more that kind of Telugu film which has no value for story or novelty but tries to sail by some comedy here and there. PRETTY AVERAGE STUFF!!!
