Bangali Babu English Mem Bengali Movie
Madhusudan Dutta (Soham) is a typical Bengali, who belongs to a normal traditional household. But his dreams are way above the normal, and he only dreams of getting married to a Canadian woman. This simple wish is the plot of Director Ravi Kinnagi's Bengali Babu English Mem. Madhu is all set to travel to Canada to bring himself a beautiful firangi wife. As he readies himself for the quest, he meets Ria (Mimi Chakraborty), the two keep crossing paths time and again. What begins from the visa office ends up in love ultimately, but the transition though obvious happens through a series of incidents. While Soham and Ria accompany each other on the flight to Canada, but they decide they will not meet each other again as their destinies and purpose for Canada are different.
As the two steps on the Canadian soil, they again reunite. They both end up in the same house as tenants and are forced to adjust with each other, even though they had promised otherwise. Madhu immediately sets out on his search, while Ria gets busy with her own ambitions. Both actors Soham and Mimi are good in their respective roles and hilarious at times. But what set Bengali Babu English Mem apart is of course the music and the dialogues. The songs already are hits and are definitely high on their entertainment value. Worth a hum, the music is very striking for the crowd.
While Madhu keeps searching for his ideal Canadian love with Ria's help, trouble breaks free for them as Vikram steps into the plot. He is supposedly Ria's fiancee and is ready to bring Ria back to the country for marriage. The story from here takes the much awaited leap towards a lovey dovey conclusion.
To sum up, Bengali Babu English Mem is a good watch and is high on the entertainment quotient. The simple story of love, which happens but over a lot of other happenings brings out a cute storyline with ease. There is love, there is joy and there is music to make the film score some extra brownies.
