When we are facing an immense crisis and almost can't decide how to lead life we are struck by a lot of emotions. Normalcy almost takes the exit door and it becomes too difficult to see the simplicity in life.

Director Atanu Ghosh's new film Rupkatha Noy explores these human emotional patterns around the characters and weaves the narrative with precision and emotional backbone. Several emotions like loneliness, anger, betrayal and agony take the centre stage in this film.

The five central characters in the film represent five distinct emotions. Each character is facing a crisis in their lives which they can't discuss with anyone around. Soumitra Chatterjee is one such person who unknowingly becomes a part of all of their lives. He begins to listen to their stories and heal their souls with love.

The characters are undergoing severe soul devastations in the film. While one seeks revenge, the other is all set for a suicide and a lonely bride decides to run away from her in-laws place. Soumitra ideally plays his age in Rupkatha Noy and begins to bring back these lost souls on the track of life with some positivity. What begins on park bench slowly extends towards each individual lives.

Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee is brilliant and like a captain takes the steering wheel of the ship - Rupkatha Noy. While Ghosh sets the sail with an intricately weaved narrative, the actors Kaushik Sen, Rahul, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Sohini Sarkar, Nina Chakrabarty and Radhika Apte are equally good in their respective roles.

Rupkatha Noy is a good watch and definitely a value for money watch. Human emotion significantly becomes the platform for this film there is something for everyone in Rupkatha Noy.
