What happens when a Bengali boy falls in love with a Punjabi girl? A lot of things can happen, a lot of things cannot happen even. But fortunately a lot begins to happen and what happens happens, through Bangla NaacheBhangra. The new kids on the block Sayan and Pallavi walks us through a chirpy, bubbly romance on screen in Director Nandini Sharma's film Bangla NaacheBhangra.

When Raj and Simran meet a love has to brew in between them. It is of course the charm of these romantic names, Director Nandini Sharma quite effectively makes use of these cult names for her protagonists and makes them click on screen through a lovey dovey story concocted with immense hardships and tussle.

Raj (Sayan) falls in love with Simran (Pallavi), what initially began as hatred between the two, ultimately turns into an unconditional love slowly. But to add to the problems, it is their Bengali and Punjabi community background that finally causes a hindrance to their otherwise smooth love story. A quiz contest and its after party form the basic backdrop for this couple. Simran get drunk and is unable to return home after the party. When Raj comes to drop Simran home the next morning, the fiasco starts with the family members. A series of events rolls out from here and finally Simran is packed and send to Punjab.

As destined Raj too can't take this separation and sheds all his glories to travel to meet his love and win her over. The music of the film is worth humming and does leave an impact. The newcomers are good with their acting skills, while the character artists KharajMukherjee,Rajesh Sharma and BiswajitChakrabarty are brilliant in their own way. The couple in love is natural and very in love on screen.

Director Nandini Sharma in her debut Bangla NaacheBhangrais impressive andcreates a mark with a love story to start with. The usual love story paradigm is explored well through the film without much disappointment.

As a whole, Bangla NaacheBhangrais that punch which does not taste bad, when watched once. In the mood to lighten your spirits you can easily walk into a theatre near you to enjoy this Bengali-Punjabi wedding.
