PLOT:

An emotional thriller based on a road trip inspired from the real events that happened in Chennai. The movie is directed by Rajesh Pillai. It is a remake of the 2011 Malayalam film of same name. Originally written by brothers Bobby and Sanjay, the film's screenplay has been adapted into Hindi by Suresh Nair, while the dialogues were penned by Piyush Mishra.

For a remake of a Malayalam movie this one tells the tale based on a true story, but it becomes so tedious because it tries too hard to infuse the TV drama pace of Kiefer Sutherland's 24 and ends up being tedious.

What the film does have are some wonderful actors in the ensemble whose easy performances hold the fractured narrative together. Ultimately Traffic wears thin, feels rushed. There is neither much of an emotional tug nor an edge-of-the-seat urgency that the film promised to deliver.

The road to cinematic achievement is lined with films that made it to the interval mark and then were ruined by their own contrivances. Traffic is a case study in what not to do with your story after the half-way post.If Team Traffic had understood that, this could have been a great film. As things stand, it is an uneven, unsatisfying ride.
