Kanyaka Talkies Malayalam Movie

‘Kanyaka Talkies’ takes us back to the talkies era of 1980s. The film directed by K R Manoj revolves around a B-grade movie theater in a village in Kerala in the 80s and 90s.

Kanyaka Talkies is a talkies in the village of Kuyyali. The talkies showcased adult movies. At a time when the talkies can no longer stand on its own; its owner Jacob sold it to the parish church.

The theater is transformed into a church. The newly appointed church vicar, Fr Michael Plathottathil hears unusual sounds from the church and a gripping story follows.

Murali Gopi, Lena, Sudheer Karamana, Sunil Sugatha, Maniyanpilla Raju, Nandu, and Indrans include the main cast of 'Kanyaka Talkies'.

'Kanyaka Talkies' won the State Film Award for the Best debut director, the Best Sound Recordist, the Best Second Actress, and was also selected to be showcased in various Film Festivals including the Goa Film Festival and Indian Panorama.
