Meryl Streep picked unhealthy habits for film role

Los Angeles, Nov 28 (IANS) Actress Meryl Streep took help of cigarettes and alcohol to prepare for her role in "August: Osage County".


The 64-year-old said she enjoyed picking up the unhealthy habits when she began getting into the character of Violet Weston, reports contactmusic.com.


"(How did I prepare?) it was a lot of smoking and bad posture and staying up late drinking red wine with (actress) Margo (Martindale)," she said.


The movie also features Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor and Benedict Cumberbatch.
