Mersal scenes to be chopped off

The controversy surrounding the recently released Vijay starrer Mersal does not seem to abate. We had reported that the state BJP leaders had expressed their dissent over a few dialogues mouthed by the hero Vijay in the climax. The dialogues had belittled the central government’s GST and also their digital initiatives.

Although, there were some sections of the film fraternity like director Pa. Ranjith who is against any scheme of the central government unmindful of its merits, there are also many who found that the statements are not correct and not well researched. The film also showed the medical system of the country in poor light which has led the medical fraternity to issue a statement to its brethren to boycott the film.

While these things are going on, producers Thenandal Film Studios had come forward to delete those scenes in question or also mute them, whichever is deemed fit. Click the Movie button below for more info:
