Madras High Court orders Tamil Nadu government to reply on why Vivegam was overpriced

Ajith’s Vivegam that was released on the 24th of August had met with mixed reviews. Apparently, there were many screens that violated the government rule on ticket pricing, which was brought to notice by a writ petition filed by a movie goer.


Arguing the case in person, the petitioner mentioned that he had filed three similar cases during the release of Rajinikanth starrer Kabali, Suriya starrer Singam II and also Vijay starrer Bairavaa. He also stated that although the court had ordered a special team to monitor this, no action was taken till date against such practices.


The Madras High Court yesterday, the 28th August sought the response of State government and 28 theatres in different parts of the State on this issue. The petitioner had accused theatres of collecting exorbitant ticket charges during the first four days of the release of Vivegam. Click the Movie button below for more info:
