Lahore High Court dismisses petition to stop screening Indian film

Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition to stop screening the Indian film "Haider" in Pakistani cinemas.


Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday held that if the petitioner had any objection to the screening of the Indian film "Haider", he should approach the censor board, the Daily Times (Islamabad) reported.


A local resident, Iftikhar Ahmad, petitioned that the film was against the ideology of Pakistan and the two-nation theory.


Besides, he said, the film was aimed at defaming the Pakistani Army.


He also said that the film has some objectionable scenes and exhibition of such a film should not be allowed in the country. Click the Movie button below for more info:
