‘Laapataa Ladies' release confirmed

The release date of ‘Laapataa Ladies’, directed by Kiran Rao, wife of actor Aamir Khan, has been announced. It be released in theatres on March 1, 2024.

The movie marks Rao's comeback to direction after 2010 film ‘Dhobi Ghat’. It is produced by Aamir Khan Production and Kindling Productions. "'Laapataa Ladies' ki khoj abhi jaari hai! Milenge 1st March 2024 ko, aapke nazdiki cinema gharon mein," Aamir Khan Production posted on X.

This rural tale follows the hilarious mess that ensues when two young brides get lost from train. The film features Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ratna, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles.

The film, which is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami, has screenplay by Sneha Desai with additional by Divyanidhi Sharma. It is presented by Jio Studios and co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande.

Earlier, the comedy-drama was slated to release in January, 2024. The movie had its premiere at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September.
