Kollywood winners in 65th National Film Awards

65th National Film Awards have been announce yesterday, the 13th April and this time around, there are not many names featured from the Kollywood.

Music composer AR Rahman is announced to have won the Best Music direction for Kaatru Veliyidai directed by Mani Ratnam. Although the film did not receive good response at the box office, the album was a hit among music buffs and the general audience. Incidentally, he has also won the Best Background Score for his Hindi film Mom.

Singer Sasha Tirupathi wins her first National Award for her brilliant rendition Vaan Varuvaan from Kaatru Veliyidai. To Let, directed by cinematographer turned director Chezhian bags the Best Tamil film. The film is yet to have the theatrical release but is having a good run at the festival circuits.
