Kochadaiiyaan producer to Latha Rajinikanth's rescue

Recently there was a complaint lodged against Latha Rajinikanth by an ad firm that alleged that she had cheated them over the deal of distribution rights for Kochadaiiyaan.

In defense of Latha Rajinikanth, Murali Manohar, producer of the film said in a press statement, “Latha Rajinikanth was never involved in this transaction as being claimed by Ad bureau. She never signed as a guarantor or issued any cheque in this transaction claimed by them. Involving her into this transaction, which is between two limited companies, is malicious and has been done with the intention of extortion."

He further added, “The ad firm paid only Rs 10 crore that resulted in postponing the release of the film from May 9, 2014. We have repaid 4.75 crore out of the 10 crore and have made another demand draft for 4 crore on November 11, 2014. We agreed to repay the balance with interest that was secured by property collateral. But Ad bureau has demanded exorbitant interest amounts and threatened to report the matter to the press, to tarnish our image and defame Latha Rajinikanth.
