'Irumbu...' will bring out best in Atharva: Director
Aug 24, 2014 IANSBose also assured that the film will deliver an adrenaline pumping experience.
Atharva was last seen in 2013's critically acclaimed Tamil period-drama "Paradesi".
"If 'Paradesi' brought forth a side in Atharva we haven't seen before, my film will bring out the best in him. I've portrayed him in a shade quite contrast to his previous roles. As an actor, he can extract different shades from a role and that's what I like about him," Bose told IANS.
"Irumbu Kuthirai", about bike racing, will stun audiences with the stunt sequences.
"Stunt scenes in the film will give audiences a dose of adrenaline rush. The experience will be very real because we didn't rely on visual effects to shoot any of the race sequences. Everything was shot by actors under a lot of supervision," he said.
While Atharva drives a Rs.32 lakh Ducati motorbike in the film, Johnny Tri Nguyen, who plays the villain, drives an equally expensive BMW bike.
Over 20 racing bikes were used in "Irumbu Kuthirai", which also features Indian biker Alisha Abdullah in an important role.
The film predominantly takes place in Pondicherry, but all the racing sequences were shot in Italy.
"We couldn't shoot in India because we didn't have the space to use the bikes. Getting bikes were not a hassle, but finding a location to shoot was challenging. Therefore, we decided to shoot in Italy in real locations," Bose said.
Also starring Priya Anand, Raai Laxmi and Jagan in important roles, the film is slated to release Aug 29.
