Hansika not in Sangamithra

Sangamithra is a mammoth project to be produced by Thenandal Film Studios, Limited and it features Jayam Ravi and Arya as the leads. The film is directed by Sundar C and the unit had a massive launch in the recently held Cannes Film Festival.

Shruti Haasan was initially booked to play the titular role and she even went to the extent of getting trained in sword fight from a renowned technician on this. But, later, she walked out of the film saying that she had not been given a script also and felt that it would not do any good for her career to allott two solid years for this film.

Since the exit of Shruti, the unit has been searching for heroines and many names were considered. Hansika was one of the top contenders and since the rapport that she has with director Sundar C is well known, it was almost said that she would be the heroine. But it has been revealed by sources close to the Sangamithra camp that Hansika will not be in the film and that they would announce the female lead soon. Click the Movie button below for more info:
