Handful of movies for Mammootty

Though Mammotty’s recent movies have not been received well in the box office, going by the future projects it seems Mammootty’s bad luck with box office is over. In 2013, ‘Kunjananthante Kada’ and ‘Immanuel’ were the only movies which had met with success. In 2014, the much awaited movies ‘Balyakalasakhi’ and ‘Gangster’ have also tasted failure.

But still the actor is one of the most sought after actors in the industry now. Reports say, many top directors and debutants are waiting for his date. Mammootty’s upcoming projects include ‘Munnariyippu’, ‘Manglish’, ‘Rajadiraja’, ‘Varsham’, ‘Pathemari’, and the untitled movies by Martin Prakkat, newcomer Jamal, Aashiq Abu, M T-Hariharan team.

Mammootty is seen in a varied get up in cinematographer Venu’s ‘Munnariyippu’. Aparna Gopinath does the female lead. The trailer of the movie is already out and the movie is expected to be released soon. Mammootty plays Malik Bhai, a wholesale fish seller in Salam Bappu’s ‘Manglish’. Caroline Beck from Netherland is the heroine.

‘Varsham’ is directed by Ranjith Sankar and ‘Rajadiraja’ by Ajay Vasudevan. ‘Pathemari’ is directed by Salim Ahmed and the movie deals with the story of emigrant life. Martin Prakkat’s movie will be a full length entertainer scripted by Anoop Menon.
