‘Gangubai Kathiawadi' in cinemas next year

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn as lead charcaters, will release on January 6, 2022. Earlier, the film was set to release this year, but due to the pandemic, the makers had to postpone it.

Announcing the release date, Ajay Devgn tweeted: “She rose to power amidst the flames of hardships. The wait is about to get over, watch #GangubaiKathiawadi in cinemas near you on 6th January 2022 #SanjayLeelaBhansali @aliaa08 @jayantilalgada @PenMovies @bhansali_produc.”

The film also stars dancer-turned-actor Shantanu Maheshwari, who will be seen playing Alia's love interest. The film is partially based on the book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ by S Hussain Zaidi. Click the Movie button below for more info:
