Four films for this Pongal season

Festival seasons are the times when people throng to theatres, especially the family audience to spend some quality entertaining time. In Tamil Nadu, the harvest festival or the Pongal festival is much looked out for as there are four days to enjoy the festive spirit.

This season, there are four Tamil films which are gearing up to hit the screens and each one of them is different and unique in its own manner.

We have Sivakarthikeyan’s Rajini Murugan which is the most awaited film of these four. The film’s trailer promises a fun ride a la Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam and what better than enjoy a fun filled film during festival. Then we have Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Gethu which appears to be a commercial thriller. There is director Bala’s Tharai Thappattai which is Ilayaraja’s 1000th film. This film will talk about karagattam and other folk arts of Tamil Nadu. Then we have Pandiraj-Vishal’s Kathakali that appears to be one more commercial film.
