Film producers guild to raise funds for Uttarakhand victims

Mumbai, July 16 (IANS) Producer Mukesh Bhatt, the president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, reveals that the body along with two other parties, will organise an event on Independence Day to raise funds for those affected by floods in Uttarakhand.

"For Uttarakhand, film producers guild, Star Plus and Film Worker's Federation of India will together organise an event on Independence Day. Whatever funds we collect, that will be donated for (victims of the) tragedy that has happened in Uttarakhand," Bhatt said here Monday at the South Africa India Film and Television Awards (SAIFTA) press conference.

Uttarakhand experienced heavy rainfall and cloud burst last month causing floods and landslides in areas like Rudraprayag and Kedarnath valley. The death toll is expected to have mounted to hundreds.
