Fifty newcomers in a film

Debutant director Sudhakar Shanmugam’s film Peiyena Peiyum Kurudhi is gearing up for a release. A journalist turned director, Sudhakar says the film Paranormal Activity gave the confidence to make a film on shoestring budget. Although the title suggests that there could be violence, Sudhakar denies the same and says that Kalingathu Barani made him shoot violent scenes without showing bloodshed.

Elaborating on his film, Sudhakar says, “Peiyena Peiyum Kurudhi is a black comedy thriller. I have penned the screenplay in such a way that my hero’s character will be talked about through the film but the hero himself will appear for only 15 seconds.”

He also adds that he has introduced 50 newcomers in his film, which won’t have even a single female character. However, the film will have romance, which will be between a man and a woman.” The film has just around 5 % to complete and Sudhakar plans to release it by March end or April.
