Moscow, April 3 (IANS) Hollywood star Tom Cruise says he won't mind a space trip, which can cost him 130,000 pounds, but would just like "a couple of other people to test it out first".

While promoting the new sci-fi film "Oblivion", Cruise admitted he would love the experience, reports thesun.co.uk.

"Who wouldn't want to do something like that? I'm going to let a couple of other people test it out first, but it would be great. I was always hoping, when I was a kid, that we would be travelling to different planets by now," said Cruise.

The "War of the Worlds" star, 50, would be following other celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, who plan to go into space. The "Two And A Half Men" star has already kept aside 130,000 pounds for Virgin Galactic's upcoming two-hour mission.

Cruise believes aliens can exist. In fact, some of his religious friends do believe that an alien called Xenu brought humans to Earth 75 million years ago.

The actor said: "I don't think you can actually count it out. It might be a little arrogant to think we were the only ones in all the galaxies throughout the universe - but I've never met one!"

Cruise spoke here at the Russian premiere of "Oblivion", in which he plays one of the last men on Earth after an alien battle ravages the planet in 2073.

He is well practised for a trip to space as he once flew a Space Shuttle simulator at NASA's space centre in Houston, Texas.
