Director Vasanth on his next film Thanneer

Director Vasanth’s last film was Moondru Paer Moondru Kaadhal with Arjun, Cheran and Vemal. He is now working in his next film titled Thanneer based on a novel by eminent writer Ashoka Mithran. Produced by Cross World Films and Vasanthachitram, Thanneer stars Hindi actor Gulshan Grover and Chandini in the lead.

Speaking about his film Vasanth says, that the story of Ashoka Mithran stayed with him for decades. He first read it in the 1980s and reread it many times since. “The film is set during the infamous drought that hit Chennai in 1969,” he says.

The film marks the coming together of an unusual set of people, singer Sudha Ragunathan turns composer, Rolf Dekens from The Netherlands is the cinematographer.
