Director Rathina Siva on Vijay Sethupathi in Rekka

Rathina Siva is ready with his directorial Rekka starring Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead. The film has KS Ravikumar playing Vijay’s father, Kabir Singh, plays the villain and Sathish and Harish Uthaman are seen in crucial roles.

Lakshmi Menon plays the role of a college girl and Vijay Sethupathi plays an advocate in Rekka which is set against the backdrop of Kumbakonam and Madurai. About Rekka, Rathina Siva says, “The hero makes a mistake in his young days. Whether he rectifies it or not when he grows up is the rest of the story”.

Rathina Siva is all praise of Vijay Sethupathi. He says, “When I narrated Rekka story, I wasn’t sure if he would agree because he has never done full-on ‘safe’ mass-entertainer projects. His reality-based family stories and village-roles have been a huge hit. But for the first time, it was challenging for me to convince him for an action-oriented venture that has comedy and romance too. Thankfully, he agreed and I am glad the film has come out well”.
