Director Balaji Mohan on Maari 2

Director Balaji Mohan after giving Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi and Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, did Maari with Dhanush and the expectations were naturally high as two talented technicians are teaming up. But sadly so, the film was a lackluster affair and did not earn the team brownie points. Anirudh’s music was the saving grace in the film.

However, the duo announced that there would be Maari 2 and that the director was busy in scripting the same. A couple of days ago, Dhanush tweeted saying with a picture of bound script of Maari 2 that Balaji Mohan had submitted the same to him.

When Balaji Mohan was questioned on this, he said, “Maari 2 will be an extension of Dhanush’s character with a North Madras backdrop. The prequel was termed as a fan-favorite. So, I have included elements in the sequel that will also satisfy family audiences and kids. Compared to Maari, this film will be content-oriented and will have emotional elements. I have written the script in such a way that it has more edginess. We are planning to begin shooting somewhere in mid 2017”. Click the Movie button below for more info:
