"Friends" star David Schwimmer is making a full-time comeback to television.

Schwimmer has joined the cast of the upcoming FX anthology series "American Crime Story" to play the defense attorney, and close friend of O.J. Simpson, Robert Kardashian.

The miniseries takes a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers that explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

Schwimmer joins an impressive cast that already includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson and Sarah Paulson as prosecuting attorney Marcia Clark.

This will be the first time Schwimmer has joined the regular cast of a TV series since "Friends" ended in 2004. He's made guest appearances in many shows, including "Entourage" and "30 Rock," as well as directed films and TV.
