Actor Chris Pine has confirmed that he will star in the female superhero movie "Wonder Woman" with Gal Gadot.

The "Star Trek" actor shared the news with Premiere magazine, and said he's excited and couldn't wait any longer to do the movie.

"I do not really know what I'm allowed to tell you. I'm super excited, of course, Gal Gadot is super talented, Patty Jenkins will perform, and we will shoot in film," added Pine, who is promoting his upcoming film "The Finest Hours".

Sharing the reasons why he's so delighted to be a part of the film, he said: "What excites me most is to turn in a movie with a superhero woman. With a woman in the lead role. I am a team with this intelligent, beautiful and strong (woman) to destroy the wicked and save humanity. The routine, whatever."

However, he didn't mention the role he's going to play in the film, which is likely to release in 2017.

It was reported several months ago that Pine would play Steve Trevor, the Amazonian princess's love interest who will help her save humanity.

Trevor first appeared alongside Diana Prince, who played Wonder Woman in 1942's "All Star Comics" eighth edition.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, "Wonder Woman" is scheduled for a US release on June 23, 2017. Click the Movie button below for more info:
