Want Raj, Uddhav Thackeray to join hands: Nana Patekar
Mar 1, 2013 IANSReplying to queries on India TV's show "Aap Ki Adalat", the actor said: "I told them 'Aap donon alag-alag mat raho. Saath me kuchh kaam karo, hamara bhala ho jayega' (Don't stay separately. Work together for the benefit of all of us)."
He also said he considered the late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray as a father figure, but "he never gave me a ticket from his party".
Patekar said he had an equally good relationship with both NCP chief Sharad Pawar and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, "the reason being that I never sought favours from either of them till date, otherwise friendship ends".
On the film front, the actor has featured in a key role in Ram Gopal Varma's "The Attacks of 26/11", a movie based on the 26/11 Mumbai terror strike.
In the film, he plays a joint commissioner of police facing an inquiry over the attacks, while Sanjeev Jaiswal is seen as Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who was executed recently.
Nana said he was happy to receive praises for his performance from an actor like megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
"I am happy that a senior colleague has liked it. But coming back to the main point, this is not a movie. There are no songs and dances that will entertain. And that is one reason why I am a part of this film."
"This film gives a message and is also an experience. There is nothing to make you happy after seeing the film. I am sure people will not clap after seeing it, and everyone will come out of the movie hall with their lips sealed," he said.
"Aap Ki Adalat" featuring Nana Patekar will be telecast on India TV Saturday and Sunday.
