SRK feels he's too macho to do love stories
Nov 10, 2012 IANS"I am an anti-love story kind of person. Its an irony that I worked with Yash Chopra for 20 years and that too in romantic movies," said the superstar at the promotional meet of his next film "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (JTHJ) releasing Nov 13.
JTHJ starring Shah Rukh, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, is late director Yash Chopra's last directorial venture.
"I have a lot of memories associated with him since I have worked with him for 20 years. We used to talk about life, love and relationships. I remember sitting with him in Switzerland during a shoot and chatting with him about how beautiful women were," recalls the actor.
He was here to promote his forthcoming film JTHJ at the 18th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which kicked off in the city Saturday.
Having worked with the director in blockbusters like "Darr", "Dil Toh Pagal Hai" and "Veer Zaara", the actor considers it a privilege to have learnt from him.
"I have learnt a lot from him and now I can advise people about life, love and relationships. Yash ji had a deep understanding of the intricacies of relationships," said the actor who recently celebrated his 47th birthday.
Portraying as a bomb disposal officer of the Indian Army in the upcoming film, the actor considers his role as unique.
"This is probably the first time anyone has ever portrayed a bomb disposal officer in Indian films. It is a tragic love story and will make you want to be in love," said the actor while promoting the film in the city.
Speaking about being the brand ambassador of West Bengal, he said: "I would love to be associated with the Bengali film industry. There's great talent in literature and art."
