Mumbai, June 12 (IANS) Salim Diwan hails from a doctor's family in Jaipur and runs alcohol de-addiction centres, so playing a doctor in his debut film "Ankur Arora Murder Case" has been special for the newcomer.

"I am playing a doctor's role. It's not new for me as I am from a doctor's family. I was brought up with stethoscope, and being a doctor itself is a special role in any kind of movie," he said.

A medical thriller, Suhail Tatari directed "Ankur Arora Murder Case" is about medical negligence, which many a times turn fatal.

Salim has joined actors like Tisca Chopra and Kay Kay Menon in the cast and said that he enjoyed working with Kay Kay, who plays doctor Astana in the movie coming out Friday. It has been produced by Vikram Bhatt.

"It was interesting working with Kay Kay Menon. He is a very talented actor and I learned a lot from him. The expectation is very high from the film as we worked very hard," he said.

With stardust in his eyes, Salim landed in the city of dreams and started a pharma business (Ayurvedic medicines manufacturing) for survival and says that he had his share of struggle before getting his launch pad.

"Mumbai is the city of dreams and opportunities and my struggle as an actor is just like any other...during initial days, it was struggle to survive and that time I decided to go back. But I knew I can't stay far away from Bollywood. In 2001, I came to Mumbai and started a pharma business (Ayurvedic medicines manufacturing) and we have alcohol de-addiction centres all over India," he said.

The actor, who has also been part of an episode on television, said: "The role I am looking should be convincing and recognised by the audiences."
