Mumbai monsoon makes Anurag Kashyap nostalgia

The rains in Mumbai Monday made filmmaker Anurag Kashyap nostalgic. It was on this date 20 years back that he had come to Mumbai, and back then too, it had rained.

"3rd june 1993...I stepped off a train in Mumbai...It's been 20 years...it rained that day and it rains now," tweeted Kashyap.

Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Kashyap is known for films like "Black Friday", "No Smoking", "Dev D", "Gulaal" and the two-part series "Gangs of Wasseypur" - each critically acclaimed.

The filmmaker was recently awarded the 'Chevalier dans l'ordre des Arts et Lettres' (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) honour by the French government at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival.
