Biopic on Mithali Raj to go on floors in mid-2020

The biopic on former captain of the Indian women's cricket team, Mithali Raj, will go on the floors in the middle of 2020. Titled ‘Shabaash Mithu’, actress Taapsee Pannu will portray the cricketer in the film.

Taapsee has lately been a part of several successful films such as ‘Badla’, ‘Mission Mangal’ and ‘Saand Ki Aankh.’

Meanwhile, Taapsee shared photograph of Mithali’s birthday celebrations on Twitter. “Happy Birthday Captain @M_Raj03 On this Birthday, I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu P.S- I’m all prepared to learn THE ‘cover drive,” she tweeted.

‘Shabaash Mithu’ is backed by Viacom18 Studios and directed by Rahul Dholakia of ‘Raees’ fame.
