Ankita Lokhande to make her Bollywood debut with 'Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi'

The gorgeous Ankita Lokhande is a well-known name in the Indian households. She mesmerised everyone with her sweet yet engaging character in the daily soap ‘Pavitra Rishta’ alongside Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR).

And now Ankita, just like her ex-beau SSR, is ready for her big transition from TV to celluloid. Ankita will mark her debut in Bollywood with Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi.’

Manikarnika is a highly anticipated high budget film. The movie will be based on Rani Laxmi Bai and Ankita will be playing a prominent role in this historic drama. She will be seen playing the role of Jhalkari Bai who used to disguise and act as a shield to Rani Laxmi Bai.

Jhalkari Bai was a doppelganger of Rani Laxmi Bai and would always risk her own life to protect the queen. Her uncanny likeness to the queen helped her take control of the Jhansi Army. Jhalkari Bai belonged to an oppressed community called the ‘Kori caste’ and yet achieved a rank as high as the advisor to Rani Laxmi Bai.

Ankita Has already started training for her role under the supervision of Hollywood action director Nick Powell.
