Akshay Kumar vs Ajay Devgn: Who is doing the film on Jaswant Gill?

A few days ago it was reported that Akshay Kumar would play a rescue hero in a film based on the epic Raniganj coalfield rescue mission and he was in the process of acquiring the rights for the same. However, now there is a new twist in the tale.

It is learned that, not Akshay but Ajay Devgn has acquired the rights to the project. A source was quoted in a daily saying, “Last week Akshay heard the Raniganj Coalfield rescue mission story (1969), where 64 miners were trapped in a coal mine hundreds of feet underground, and was keen to act in it. He was in the process of acquiring the rights to the film when he learned that Ajay has already acquired the official rights for the story from JS Gill (currently based in Amritsar) who rescued his team at the Raniganj coal mines.”

Well, this is not the first time the two action stars of Bollywood are planning to work on similar stories. In fact, both of them are also working on different versions of the ‘Battle Of Saragarhi.’ While it is reported that Ajay will be producing, directing and acting in the film, Akshay will be starring in Karan Johar and Salman Khan’s production of the ‘Battle of Saragarhi.’ We only hope there is no war at the box office.

Meanwhile, Akshay will next be seen in ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, where he will be starring opposite Bhumi Pednekar. The movie is slated to release on August 11, 2017, and is directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Whereas, Ajay Devgn will next be seen in ‘Golmaal Again’ which is being helmed by Rohit Shetty and slated to release during the Diwali weekend this year.
