Actress Anjali Devi is no more

Veteran actress Anjali Devi passed away on Jan 13 afternoon at a hospital in Chennai. She had done 400 films in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi. She was 85 years.

Anjali Devi’s fame cane due to her portrayal of mythological characters in Telugu movies. Her roles in in Lava Kusha as Sita, and roles in movies like Suvarna Sundari and Anarkali were very popular. In Hindi she did Devta opposite Gemini Ganeshan and Sati Savitri opposite Mahipal and Bhakta Prahlad.

Anjali Devi’s husband was music director P Adinarayana Rao and the couple has two sons. Her granddaughter Saila Rao is an actress.
