Actor Vivek passes away: Celebrities expressed their condolences.

The passing away of Tamil film star Vivek has come as a shock to the film industry. Celebrities of the film world expressed their condolences. Vivek had made a name for himself in the Tamil film industry with his comedy roles. He has excelled in his roles with a unique style. He has won the Tamil Nadu Government Award for Best Comedian five times. In 2009, the country honored him with the Padma Shri.

A.R. Rahman, Prakash Raj and many others took to Twitter to offer their condolences. Surya, Jyothika and Karthi went to Vivek's residence in Virugambakkam, Chennai to pay their last respects.

Vivek made his film debut in 1987 with Balachander's Manathil Uruthi Vendum. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday after suffering from a heart attack. He will be deeply missed by the South Indian film industry.
