Abhinay Deo's sports drama titled ‘Doosra'

Filmmaker Abhinay Deo announced his new film titled ‘Doosra’ on Thursday. The sports drama has the premise of Indian cricket team’s famous win against England in the NatWest Series 2002.

“A film that is very special to me. #Doosra - the story of India's iconic 2002 victory as seen through the eyes of a young girl. Story & screenplay by my friend Agnello Dias. Executive producers Masha & Rohan Sajdeh. Stars Plabita Borthakur Ankur Vikal Krishna gokani samidha guru,” Deo tweeted.

The director also shared the first look poster of the film and it gives a sneak peek into the multi-layered story told through the eyes of a young girl who chooses a different route for freedom.

It shows the influence of the then captain Saurav Ganguly, who took off his jersey to celebrate the thrilling win at the Lord’s stadium in London, on the young minds of the country.
