Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar to clash with Rajinikanth's 2.0 and Ajay Devgn's Golmaal Again

While Diwali in India usually witnesses a clash between two mega releases, this year it shall be a clash between three big films.

Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ featuring Akshay Kumar and directed by S.Shankar was already scheduled for a release in Diwali. Later, it was reported that Rohit Shetty’s next instalment in the ‘Golmaal’ franchise— ‘Golmaal Again’, starring Ajay Devgn, would also release during the festival of lights in 2017. And now we hear that Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’ too is slated to release on the same day as the other two biggies.

The news was shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his twitter handle. “#BreakingNews: Aamir Khan Productions’ #SecretSuperstar will now release in Diwali 2017. Zee Studios presents. Directed by Advait Chandan,” wrote Adarsh.

Aamir was earlier supposed to release the film, which is made under his production, with Sanjay Dutt’s comeback movie ‘Bhoomi’ on August 4, however, that plan was later cancelled.

Spokesperson of 'Secret Superstar' said in a statement: “The second week of the film is as important as the first week. Traditionally, the Diwali festive period is known to have room for multiple big ticket films.”

Apparently, Aamir Khan himself called Rajinikanth and discussed his concerns with the film releasing as per the earlier August schedule. “Both the actors share a warm bond and it was with Rajini sir's blessing that the film is announcing a Diwali release,” said a source close to the film.

This Diwali calls for some big celebrations indeed.
