Janani the pretty heroine with mesmerizing eyes caught the attention of Tamil cinema fans in Bala’s Avan Ivan. Her good will continued in the crime thriller Thegidi that followed. Janani choosy in selecting her films picked two interesting projects as her next best.

"I have completed the talkie portions of Ultaa and I am also done with the first schedule of Thollaikaatchi. Ultaa is a psychological thriller, directed by Vijay Balaji and my character has two shades — one of which is bubbly and fresh. In Thollaikatchi, directed by debutant Sadiq Khan, my character's name is Malar, and I play a traditional girl for the first time. After the Premam fever, I am sure the name of my character itself will attract viewers.
